New charge for Lancaster man accused of fatal hit-and-run crash - PennLive.com
Orlando Ruby Ortiz, 37, was charged with a felony count of accidents involving death or personal injury, when he waived his preliminary hearing on Tuesday in Lancaster District County Court. Northern Lancaster County Regional Police were dispatched to the report of a pedestrian crash, in the area of the intersection of Locust Grove Road and South View Drive in Penn Township, shortly after 7:45 p. m. Saturday. Stitlely was found dead at the scene and it was determined he was struck by a 2007 Jeep Compass operated by Ortiz, who fled the scene, police said. The Jeep was later recovered from a parking lot in Lancaster City and seized for further forensic processing, police said. Police said Ortiz was taken into custody by investigators at a Lancaster City residence late Sunday afternoon, interviewed and then transported to the Lancaster County Arrest Booking Center where he was charged.
