Woodland police seek suspect in overnight hit and run - Daily Democrat

According to police, the incident started around 10:14 p. m. , Thursday, when West Sacramento resident Rene Muinos called the West Sacramento Police Department to report his gold 1999 Mazda 626 as stolen. Then, around 2:14 a. m. , Friday, a Woodland Police officer saw what later appeared to be a hit and run traffic collision where a vehicle had possibly struck a bicyclist near the intersection of West and West Cross streets. Medical aid and other nearby officers were dispatched to attend to the victim and the witnessing officer pursued the vehicle to the area of Clanton Avenue and Cleveland Street, where the driver hit a parked vehicle causing disabling damage to the... Police reported the license plate on the suspect vehicle returned as a stolen vehicle to the Mazda from West Sacramento. However, the pursuing officer was able to identify the driver as the 15-year-old suspect of the stolen Mazda and the possible felony hit and run. Police reported that officers setup a perimeter and attempted an area search for the suspects but were ultimately unable to locate anyone related to the stolen Mazda.
