Police investigate homicide - Pine Bluff Commercial

Pine Bluff police are continuing their investigation into the second homicide of the month Sunday night. David De Foor said in a press release officers discovered 32-year-old Darrell Lovett of Pine Bluff shot to death in a vehicle Sunday night when they were called to an accident. At about 11:48 p. m. Sunday, police were originally dispatched to a single car accident. They found a black Mitsubishi Galant in the ditch at the intersection of Third Avenue and Grant Street. The car was occupied by Lovett. Deputy Coroner Michael Boykin pronounced Lovett dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds at 12:50 a. m. Coroner Chad Kelley said the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday for an autopsy. 14, officers were dispatched to the area of East Fifth Avenue and Washington Street at around 12:25 a. m. and found Berlandrick Bass, 24, inside a parked vehicle. Bass was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher who listed the cause of death as apparent gunshot wounds.
