MANLIUS, N. Y. -- A 19-year-old driver crossed into oncoming traffic Monday afternoon on Kirkville Road in the town of Manlius and crashed head-on into a Mercedes-Benz van, Manlius police said. Three people were taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse and the road was closed for about five hours after the crash. At 12:11 p. m. Monday, Tyler Blair, 19, was driving a 2011 Nissan Altima east on Kirkville Road when he crossed over the center line as he rounded a curve on the 45 mph road. Blair's car collided head-on with a 2014 Mercedes-Benz van heading west on Kirkville Road, between Fremont Road and Girden Road. Both drivers and the passenger in the van, Ryan Kimmel, 33, were taken by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Members of the Manlius and DeWitt police accident investigation team responded to the scene on Kirkville Road, between Fremont Road and Benedict Road.
