2016 Maxima marks the return of Nissan's “4-Door Sports Car” - New York Daily News
Based on looks alone, the 2016 Nissan Maxima sedan is ready to create a huge stir at the 2015 New York Auto Show. First spotted during a Super Bowl TV commercial, the new Maxima proves the Japanese automaker is not giving up on its family car with a need for speed (and attention. The 2016 Maxima is absolutely loaded with curves and creases, the fender creases swoop upwards, backwards below the door handles, and back up and over the rear wheels before tapering into the trunk. Large LED-equipped headlight and tail-lamps will give the new Maxima an instantly identifiable ‘face,’ even at night-time. When it comes to details, like the size of the grille, Nissan designers side-stepped a simplistic ‘bigger is better’ approach for something that looks like a cross between a GT-R supercar and the brand new Murano crossover. Love it or hate it, you’ll never lose the new Maxima in a crowd. Nissan hasn’t mentioned what will be under the hood, for that news we’ll have to wait for the global debut during the New York Auto Show media preview. It’s a refreshing turnaround from the Maxima’s slide from sport sedan to, well, a sedan with a hint of sportiness. Source: www.nydailynews.com
