WASHINGTON — Nissan North America is recalling 625,000 2013-'15 Nissan Altima sedans because the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration . "In the affected vehicles, the... The expanded recall involves vehicles built from March 1, 2013 to December 31, 2014. "Nissan tentatively concludes that vehicles manufactured after December 31, 2014 are not affected," the company told NHTSA. Nissan is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fatalities linked to the recall, wrote Nissan spokesman Steve Yaegar in response to a query from Edmunds. "Nissan will implement an interim procedure to inspect and lubricate the secondary hood latch assembly on all subject vehicles manufactured prior to December 31, 2014 in dealer inventory prior to retail sale," the company told NHTSA.
