Multiple vehicles involved in Highway 81 accident - Columbus Telegram

Tim Salmen with the Nebraska State Patrol, a total of five vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction crash around 6:20 p. m. on Highway 81 just south of the Highway 64 junction. Salmen said 33-year-old Henry Miller of Lincoln was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala south on Highway 81 when his car was hit by another southbound vehicle. Miller and a passenger in his vehicle, 27-year-old James Lindsey of Lincoln, were transported to Columbus Community Hospital with minor injuries, Salmen said. The others injured are 29-year-old Christopher Dresch of Brainard, who was driving a 1991 Nissan Stanza. 16-year-old Christine Vance of Osceola, who was driving a 2005 Toyota Camry, and her 15-year-old sister Tatem Vance. 56-year-old Richard Augustin of Shelby, who was driving a 2007 Ford Focus, and a passenger in his vehicle, 17-year-old Shawn Vanderpool of Shelby. All of the vehicles involved were traveling south on Highway 81. Salmen said one of the vehicles caught fire after the accident but the flames were quickly extinguished. Source: columbustelegram.com
