EXECUTIVE EDITOR ROGER HART: For a small truck offering some full-size features, this is a good one. For less than $30,000, this truck will do what a large percentage of all truck buyers need. Unless you're buying a heavy-duty work truck or need to tow your Airstream, a truck this size makes sense--especially one that offers up 20 mpg. Toyota has included some interesting features as well, including a full power outlet in the bed. Even though this isn't a full-size truck, there's plenty of cabin room thanks to the dual cab. It rides like a truck, which is OK because that's exactly what it is. EDITOR WES RAYNAL: This was the perfect truck for me and three others and a trip to Costco. The truck feels bulletproof, like it would last forever. The Tacoma, to my mind, strikes a nice balance between refinement and truckiness.
