Two Eutawville men face drug charges - The Times and Democrat
Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office Two Eutawville men are facing drug charges after an Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped them as they sped through the town early Thursday morning. The deputy stopped a 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck at Old Number Six Highway and Rodeo Drive at 1:41 a. m. The driver was traveling 72 in a 35 mph zone, the incident report states. A 34-year-old Gillard Street man was driving the vehicle, which belonged to the 25-year-old passenger who resides on Saint Julien Drive. A deputy reported that the driver acted nervous and admitted there was an open beer in the center console of the truck. The passenger gave the deputy permission to search the truck during which a small quantity of marijuana and a glass pipe in a sock were found under the driver’s seat. The driver also told deputies he had a small amount of methamphetamine in the sweatband lining of his cap. The deputy charged the driver with driving without a proper S. C. driver’s license. A Santee farmer at 7 p. m. Wednesday complained to law enforcement that an Orangeburg man promised to install security cameras at his farm, but hasn’t done so. Now, the farmer is without $800.
