Toyota's next-generation HiLux - on sale this October - was revealed in May with doors firmly locked, but we now get to see inside the 2016 version of Australia's favourite ute for the first time. Increasingly we want to know about the infotainment involved - even in the hard-working commercial segment - and if the photos are to be believed, the new HiLux certainly looks one of the plushest to be found in the segment,. There are two new turbo-diesel engines, two petrol engines, three transmissions, 4x2 and 4x4 drive, three body styles and three equipment levels. WorkMate HiLux models receive a 6. 1-inch touchscreen with CD player, Bluetooth and auxiliary/USB input. Mid-range SR gains extra speakers, while double cab SR5 variants feature a seven-inch touchscreen and Toyota Link connected mobility which provides access to Pandora. And to ensure families can enjoy the HiLux when the working week is through, all double cabs feature two top tether anchors and Isofix attachment points for the rear seat.
