There’s the test track with pockmark stones protruding from the road surface, and there’s a low-speed water fording test. We see a new Nissan Titan on the testing rack at Nissan’s Technical Center in Farmington Hills, MI, where Body and Chassis Test Engineer Mike Valencia tells us the Titan is being run through a test to simulate up to 20 years of use on rough roads. Finally, we see the truck being put through a series of tests that look like something the most inept of bad drivers would do to it — jumping it over curbs at more-than-parking speeds, hitting a curb at an angled skid and scraping up the rims, and... It’s pretty gruesome to watch the Nissan Titan being given this treatment, if you’re a fan of trucks. But folks who think the Nissan Titan doesn’t get put through tough durability tests the same way the Detroit manufacturers’ trucks do ought to watch this, just to see for themselves why they’re wrong:.
