One Night Only fundraiser brings down the house - The Tennessean
Franklin-based Broadway-worthy theater company Studio Tenn packed Liberty Hall in The Factory at Franklin on Saturday, July 18, for its annual fundraiser. Opening the sold-out evening of stellar entertainment was a knockout performance by Laura Matulla, Libby Hodges, Melinda Doolittle and Diana DeGarmo — four voices as big as the sky. The stage was filled with world-class artists and entertainment ranging from previews of the upcoming season — which premieres with “Gypsy” on Sept. Studio Tenn founders Jake Speck and Matt Logan also shared some of their own vocal and dancing talents that made them regulars on the Big Apple’s coveted Broadway. Not only was there showstopping entertainment, but also fab food provided by Curtis Bates, executive chef of Blue Coast Bar & Grill in Knoxville, and a first-time-ever silent auction.
