Nissan Australia boss “flattered” that Mercedes-Benz will use Navara platform - CarAdvice
I remember reading about this somewhere about 6 or more months ago that Merc will be building a ute and that they wanted to use the Nissan chassis but then they decided against it because it wouldnt be able to cope with the engines they were... Hmm must have decided to tone down the engines or they found a way around the problem they would have had. Either way im hoping it will be a bit like Macan and Q5 where only about 30% of parts are common. Not happy about the partnership with Renault-Nissan, I can’t believe Daimler-Benz AG, agreed to this partnership in April of 2010 “Mercedes-Benz the heart of Daimler”. Can’t blame Mercedes-Benz. I have to blame it’s parent Daimler-Benz AG. Meanwhile, the Chrysler debacle from 1998 until the 2nd quarter of 2007 was enough, when Daimler-Benz AG finally sold Chrysler now this.
