2012-2014 Nissan Frontier Recalled For Wiring Harness Trouble - The Car Connection

Some 13,535 Nissan Frontier pickups from the 2012, 2013, and 2014 model years are being recalled this week for a problem with the wiring harness. According to a letter that Nissan sent to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( PDF ), the recall stems from a problem with a wiring harness positioned next to the truck's A-pillar. Over time, a bolt on that pillar can wear through the harness, which can cause a short circuit in the wiring, which can, in turn, cause overheating and "thermal damage" (i. e. theoretically, fire).
