Over 400 vehicles join Merdeka Convoy - The Borneo Post
KUCHING: More than 400 vehicles were flagged-off in the fourth Merdeka Convoy 2015 at iCom Square, colouring the city with the Jalur Gemilang and state flags yesterday. The convoy made their way to the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Jalan Stutong, Kuching International Airport, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce, Jalan Satok, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, Lebuh Wayang, Jalan Abell and back to iCom Square via... my founder Dato Patrick Liew who is the co-organiser of the two-day Merdeka Auto Carnival prior to the flag-off ceremony. He also said the organisers had decided to shift from Le’ Park in Civic Centre to iCom Square to accommodate more vehicles and provide the public with covered roofs to shield them from the searing hot sun. On another note, Liew hoped the event would get more support and assistance from the state government by providing the organisers with grants.
