Passenger died in fatal wreck on Savannah Highway, Sheriff's Office says - Charleston Post Courier
The person who was killed in a wreck on U. S. Highway 17 South in Charleston on Monday was a 79-year-old Hollywood resident riding in a car trying to cross the road, officials said Tuesday. An initial report Monday night said the driver was killed, but an updated report that was released Tuesday said a passenger died. A tan 2001 Cadillac DeVille was crossing the highway from Parkers Ferry Road in the Adams Run area just after 5 p. m. when it was hit on the passenger’s side by a white 2012 Ford Focus traveling south and sent it spinning into a stopped 2010 GMC... The driver of the Cadillac was taken to Medical University Hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the Ford Focus was taken to St. Francis Hospital with unspecified injuries.
