Ford Expands Takata Airbag Recall With GT, Mustang, Ranger: Nearly 1.5 Million ... - The Car Connection

Earlier today, we reported on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' expansion of recalls to replace Takata-brand airbags installed in select Chrysler, Dodge, and Mitsubishi vehicles. But FCA isn't the only car company enlarging its recall roster: Ford Motor Company has gotten in on the act, too. As we mentioned previously, these expansions stem from Takata's long-overdue agreement to replace airbags -- both driver-side and passenger-side -- on vehicles from coast-to-coast. Here are the vehicles now included in Ford's recall:. Driver-side airbag inflators will be replaced on 2005-2014 Ford Mustang vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant and 2005-2006 Ford GT vehicles built at Wixom Assembly Plant. Passenger-side airbag inflators will be replaced on 2004 Ford Rangers built in North America at Edison Assembly Plant and 2004-2006 Ford Rangers built at Twin Cities Assembly.
