Police: Woman Attempted Escape Out Cruiser Window - Greeneville Sun
A Greeneville woman who allegedly tried to jump out the window of a police car Saturday after being taken into custody was charged with attempted escape, Officer Shawn Hinkle said in a report. Officers knew Gilley by her name, but Gilley allegedly gave them a different last name, the report said. As Gilley was being taken to the Greene County Detention Center, she "was able to get her cuffs to the front of her person and at a red light she attempted to jump out the window," the report said. Gilley had asked if she could put the window down "claiming she was sick," the report added. Officers were able to restrain Gilley before she got completely out of the patrol car, the report said.
