Police search for culprit in lawn care equipment heist - WLKY Louisville
“It was definitely a shock that this much stuff was gone and that it had happened,” owner Justine Browning said. Browning said a customer driving by the store called to tell her the gate was open and it looked like someone had broken in. “They did get through our security system,” Browning said. Louisville Metro Police believe that the thief was driving a dark-colored Ford pickup truck with a trailer attached. “At this time, we don’t know if he came back numerous times or if it was at one time where all the equipment was taken,” Sgt. “We’re also asking for the community’s help if they saw any suspicious activity as far as anyone trying to sell brand-new law equipment in the community,” Lesher said. Six lawn mowers, thousands of dollars' worth of chain saws and other hand-held equipment were taken during the heist. “You know, it’s frustrating,” Browning said. Browning Equipment Co. issued a statement Monday thanking the community for its support. “We also want to give credit to the wonderful people who work for and with us every day in the quick recovery process which has the business running as normal again,” owner Chase Browning said in the statement. Louisville Metro Police are asking anyone with information to call police. THE OWNER OF BROWNING EQUIPMENT COMPANY SAYS THE SUSPECT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN WORKING ALONE. Source: www.wlky.com
