2015 Ford Expedition: If a twin-turbo V6 is good enough for the F-150, then... - Newsday

When it comes to towing seriously weighty objects and transporting a sports team's worth of passengers and cargo, the 2015 Ford Expedition is one of the most capable rigs around. Ford and General Motors recently updated their full-size sport utility vehicles with additional punch and dress-up amenities. But where GM's variants stuck with V8 power sources, Ford has taken a completely different approach with the Expedition. With that output level the "Ex" looks pretty solid against GM's Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon that use a 5. 3-liter V8 rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet. Dropping the previous 5. 4-liter V8 that made 310 horsepower and 365 pound-feet of torque might seem like a gutsy move. Unchanged from 2014 is the maximum 9,200-pound towing capacity, which is cut to 9,000 pounds when the optional four-wheel-drive system is selected. Ford didn't alter the Expedition's look to any great extent, with only modest updates to the grille, bumpers and front and rear lights. Source: www.newsday.com
