The next generation Ford Super Duty will come with up to seven cameras with all-new digital architecture, while the 2016 Ford F-150 will come with up to five cameras. The cameras on the Super Duty will allow the driver to see more angles around the truck and trailer and help maneuver in tight areas. Ford did not specify whether the next generation Super Duty will be labeled as 2017 model year. An option on the F-150, Pro Trailer Backup Assist uses a camera to help when reversing with a trailer. The new camera options are part of Ford’s updated camera technology on its trucks and SUVs. The 2015 Ford Edge and the 2016 Ford Explorer are available with a split-view camera system that allows the driver to see around corners when at an intersection.
