Low-mile Ford F-100 Custom Cab heads to auction - AutoWeek

The annual RM Auctions sale at Hershey is a barometer of sorts when it comes to gauging where collector interest in American cars is headed, and the lots lined up for this year's sale are themselves a reflection of what's hot in the marketplace. While midcentury station wagons are certainly attracting attention from the top collectors, another segment that is just now beginning to attract interest happens to be pickup trucks. This October, RM auctions is set to offer this restored 1959 Ford F-100 Custom Cab pickup that hails from the collection of Jeffrey Day. Like other trucks in Day's collection, it has received a ground-up restoration after being found in original condition. Trucks can be difficult to get right during a restoration despite the often-liberal tolerances, still, the hardest part is finding the best example possible to begin a restoration. Just how many examples of a 1959 Ford F-100 Custom Cab can be out there. A few lots down on the list, RM is set to offer a 1958 Ford F-100 Custom Cab pickup from the same collection ,.
