This cluster was removed from a 98.5 (late 98) 24 valve Cummins diesel equip 3500 truck with the standard 5 speed transmission.This will not read the correct temp if attempted to install in an early 98 with a 12 valve engine. And please also note if you have an automatic, this does not have the gear indicator.
