Dom Parker: Paid £15 a night for 'Gogglebox'? That's not far off the truth - Telegraph.co.uk
I wouldn’t call myself tight in the slightest but I am very aware of money’s value. Years and years ago, I remember freewheeling down hills – anything to minimise the cost of fuel. At the time, I was a salesman for a security company on commission only, but I was a disaster – the most I earned was £26 in a week. I knocked on doors, selling grossly overpriced door and window locks. I suppose the steel years were very good when I was part of the family business earning a six-figure salary as a director. But life moves on and right now, life is proving lucrative in more ways than just financial. I’m sort of in charge of getting money in and she’s in charge of getting rid of it – which she does very well. Most readers would kill for a job being filmed watching TV. How did you land the job. Very simply, we filmed a TV show, Four in a Bed , because we own a boutique hotel. We had a great time making it, and then Channel 4 rang up and said they were commissioned to make a strange show and asked if we’d like to appear and that we had to sit on. Source: www.telegraph.co.uk
