9 reasons why you should consider buying a Kia - Express.co.uk
Kia took a huge step forward when, in 2006, it employed Peter Schreyer as the company’s chief designer. Schreyer had come from the Volkswagen Group, having previously made major contributions to the new Beetle and the original Audi TT. He’s brought a real style to the company’s cars, making them more appealing. In addition to a European design studio under Schreyer, Kia also has a European engineering team, which has brought the kinds of standards we more sophisticated drivers expect. Kia introduced a seven-year warranty in 2007, initially on the cee’d, but now rolled out to all the models in its line-up. That is hugely attractive to buyers and a testament to the confidence the company has in the quality its cars (if the quality was poor, the company would be spending loads of money on repairs and new parts – but they’re obviously not). Surely it has be worth buying a cee’d just to randomly use an apostrophe. Or a Rio, because you’d have the Duran Duran song as an earworm every time somebody asked what car you drove. And a car called Soul. OK, so Kia has left its budget roots behind in its move to the mainstream, but its cars are still good value, thanks to the levels of standard equipment. Kias used to look really rubbish, so when you cast your eyes upon the beauty that is the Sportage crossover, it’s gobsmacking. No, really: the Sportage is one of the best-looking mainstream cars money can buy. Kia has devoted a lot of its engineering resources to lowering the CO2 emissions and increasing the fuel consumption figures of the brand’s cars. Source: www.express.co.uk
