This investment will allow the operation to produce models that it has not previously been able to produce, although the company would not be drawn on exactly which models it will be manufacturing. Vehicles already on the MQB platform include the VW Golf and Audi A3. Between 2007 and 2014 VWSA invested some R5. 9bn in SA, mainly for the current generation Polo and Polo Vivo, as well as plant and infrastructure.
