This is the humiliating moment a driver got his £120,000 Bentley stuck on a Cornish beach - and bystanders attempted to use toy spades to try and dig it out. The wealthy young driver had ventured onto the sand in Marazion near Penzance, Cornwall, last Sunday to have a barbecue with his family. But when he tried to leave he discovered - to his horror - that the 2. 5-tonne luxury vehicle was stuck. Desperate attempts to free the vehicle by digging it out using toy spades failed. It took a team of local people over five hours to free the Continental Flying Spur which was eventually pulled out by a local farmer's tractor. Unfortunately, while the Bentley may have escaped the incoming tide but it did not get out unscathed after its towing hook snapped off during attempts to pull it free.
