Historics at Brooklands, 29 November: Report - Classic and Performance Car
With a sell rate of 73 per cent, Historics’ end-of-year sale at Mercedes-Benz World, 81 of the 111 cars were snapped up, racking up total sales of £2. 28 million. Another particularly special E-type, this one a Series 3 V12 Roadster with fewer than 10,000 miles on the clock, sold for £72,000. The current high demand for Porsche 911 GT3 models was apparent too, when an orange 3. 6-litre 997-generation car... Perhaps helped by the location, the 17 Mercedes-Benz offerings at the sale performed pretty well, with the 617bhp 2006 McLaren Mercedes SLR finishing up at £159,000.
