Instrumented Test – 2014 BMW X5 xDrive35d Diesel Not All Xs are from Texas Inside, the new X5 provides the luxurious and comfortable cabin that has been one of the model’s hallmarks. The latest version of iDrive has become far easier to use than previous iterations, although it does require a few more control inputs than the more demanding, earlier versions. Cruising for Picnics As in previous versions, this X5 has a comfortable and spacious second-row seat, however the seat cushion is a little lower than we’d prefer. There’s also an optional third-row seat that is definitely for kids, since there’s not much legroom and crawling back there requires a few contortions.
