This is the latch at the front of the underside of the hood behind the grille. When you pop the handle under the dash to release the hood, you pull this lever behind the grille to lift the hood.
Unit carefully removed from a 2000 740iL. Fully functional and clean. Nice pre-owned hood latch. Comes with factory bolts if you need them (torx heads often strip when removed, these are not stripped and are ready to install.)
