MINOT — Lynne Sandra Rumney, 47, Minot an active Minot and Bismarck musician, died from cancer on July 7, 2015, at her home with her loving family at her side. Celebration of life service will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday, July 12, at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p. m. Saturday at Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot. She was reared and educated in Silver Spring, Md. She continued her education at Princeton University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree (A. B. cum laude) in English and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. At the Eastman School of Music, (Rochester, N. Y. ), she earned her master's degree (M. M. ) in violin performance. Lynne married Jon Rumney on Dec. They moved to Minot in 1994, where she was employed by Minot State University as director of the Honors Program (2005-11), Instructor of Humanities (1995-2011) and was co-founder/administrative director of the Dakota Chamber Music Institute...
