Family mourns after 4 killed in fiery Fair Oaks crash - KCRA Sacramento

"(It's) a tragic loss, tragic loss for me and my wife and our family. Everybody in that car was family to us," said Daniel Figueroa. Figueroa said his son, Daniel Figueroa Jr. , was the driver of the 1992 Buick LeSabre that collided head-on with a 2003 Subaru Outback at 1:30 a. m. at the intersection of San Juan and Palm avenues. When firefighters got to the scene, they found three people dead inside the Buick, and a fourth passenger dead on the road. A fifth person from the Buick was taken to the hospital with major injuries, according to officers. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that two of the passengers killed in the Buick were Judy Guzman, 33, of Sacramento and Brianna Rodriguez, 20, of Antelope. The identifies of the other passengers in the Buick have not been confirmed by the CHP. A good Samaritan who came across the crash scene is credited with pulling two women out of the Buick, and pulling Mazur from his vehicle, according to the CHP. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but officers at the scene said speed appears to be a factor because of the severity of the injuries. Officers also noted that some of the passengers in the Buick were not wearing seat belts. Source: www.kcra.com
