Just the Facts: General Motors is recalling 50,571 2013 Cadillac SRX crossovers because faulty transmission software may cause acceleration lag. The repair is ready and owners can call their Cadillac dealers for appointments, GM told Edmunds. WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling 50,571 2013 Cadillac SRX crossovers because faulty transmission software may cause acceleration lag, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. "In the affected vehicles, in certain driving situations, there may be a three- to four-second lag in acceleration due to the transmission control module programming," said NHTSA in its summary of the problem. GM told federal safety regulators the problem may occur if the following sequence occurs within two seconds: during an upshift from 1st to 2nd gear (8-10 mph), the driver then brakes the vehicle to less than 5 mph and then accelerates again. The affected vehicles were built from May 29, 2012 through June 26, 2013. Cadillac dealers will reprogram the transmission control module. Owners can contact Cadillac at 1-800-458-8006. Edmunds says: If you own the affected 2013 SRX, get in touch with your dealer now for the repair. Source: www.edmunds.com
