Car Doctor: Cadillac's 'Stabiltrak' problem related to wheel sensor - The Providence Journal
The original equipment backup lights throw so little light that at night we can’t see what is behind when we are backing up. All the backup light bulbs are working and are of the proper type. Is there something that can be done to get brighter backup lights for this car. You could add auxiliary back up lamps they look like fog/driving lights. In addition, you could add a backup camera, some cameras have very good low light capabilities and the better systems replace the rear view mirror for a factory look. I drive it nearly every day and take great care of it. Recently, I have begun to notice that every couple weeks I get a puff of blue smoke out of the exhaust when I first start the car after it has sat overnight. I check the oil level often and it doesn't appear to be losing oil. Is blue smoke a sign of oil seeping into the rings. Any other ideas what might be causing these occasional puffs of blue smoke. The oil on start-up symptom is typical of worn valve guides or leaking valve seals. As the car sits for extended periods, engine oil makes its way past the valve seals and into the combustion chamber, resulting in the puff of oil smoke. Generally, replacing all of the valve guide seals will remedy the oil smoke. Source: www.providencejournal.com
