In a statement posted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), GM says the ignition lock actuator in the affected vehicles were too large, causing them to potentially bind during hot weather conditions and cause engine... "The ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the 'Start' position," says GM. "If stuck in the 'Start' position, the ignition may suddenly snap back into the 'Accessory' position,... The problem was first brought to light as early as June when GM's service group technical bulletin proposing a review of 2010-2013 full-size trucks where the ignition cylinder could get stuck in "Start" position. The review found out that high temperatures caused the ignition lock actuator to expand and get stuck in the housing in the "Start" position. The vehicles slated for recall are the 2011-2012 models for the Cadillac Escalade and its ESV and EXT versions, heavy-duty and light-duty Chevrolet Silverado, Avalanche, Suburban and Tahoe, heavy-duty and light-duty GMC Sierra, and the GMC Yukon...
