A West Carrollton man was killed and a woman critically injured early today in a shooting. Police and medics were called around 12:10 a. m. to the shooting that happened in the 4000 block of Vina Villa Avenue near the North Gettysburg Avenue intersection. “There’s a female who’s been removed to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition and there is a male on scene who has been shot to death. He was found inside a white Chevrolet Impala, which was to be towed from the scene to a police lot. The woman was identified, but police were not releasing her name early today. The original call indicated the shooting scene was in the area of Hoover and Goodlow avenues, but Ponichtera said the caller may have been confused or not able to communicate her location at first due to her injuries. The lieutenant said the crime scene is in the 4000 block of Vina Villa Avenue, but he would not confirm whether both victims were shot inside the car.
