Monroe Police Investigating Car Thefts - Patch.com

The Monroe Police Department is investigating two incidents of vehicles being stolen from residential driveways in the past week and a half, according to a release from Capt. 24 at approximately 11 a. m. A home improvement contractor parked his 2006 Chevrolet Trail Blazer in the driveway of a home he was working in the 300 Block of Elm Street. The contractor noticed the Blazer was stolen at 11 a. m. when he went outside to get tools out of it. The Blazer was subsequently located in Bridgeport with damage to the front end, a punch ignition and all tools missing. 1 at approximately 1 a. m. when a 2008 Cadillac CTS was stolen from a driveway located on Patmar Drive. Surveillance cameras from a residence showed that three white males entering vehicles in the neighborhood and the Cadillac being driven from the victim’s home. When stolen, the Cadillac was unlocked and the keyless ignition fob was inside the car. The police department would like to remind residents that thefts from vehicles have risen in our region and to remind residents to always lock their car and never keep valuables inside.
