Update: I-80 Road Rage Incident Investigated - WOWT
Cameron was in custody Wednesday night, accused of Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Vehicle and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony. In the course of the incident, one vehicle was hit by gunfire as suspects fled the scene. Police tell us it all started with a confrontation at 30th and Sorensen Parkway. It ended along a stretch of Interstate 80. A spokeswoman with the Nebraska State Patrol tells WOWT 6 News the incident at 30th and Sorensen led them to 42nd and Interstate 80 where Troopers found a truck on the side of the road. A State Trooper found bullet holes in the truck and he found the occupants of the truck explaining that they had been shot at while driving southbound on 480. Farther to the east, at the 480-80 split, there was a Chevy Lumina in a ditch. State Troopers and Omaha police officers quickly fanned out, searching the area - many of the officers with guns drawn. Officers were able to catch one person they believe was inside the car during the incident and quickly secured him inside a cruiser. Police were searching to the south for the other two suspects for about an hour but were unable to locate them. Investigators were not immediately sure if the occupants of the two vehicles involved knew each other prior to the incident. Source: www.wowt.com
