And they rely primarily on pickup trucks to do all of that, from Chevrolet Colorado midsize models all the way up through Chevrolet Silverado 1500 , 2500HD and 3500HD units. “Our fleet vehicles double as mobile offices for the majority of our employees … in the remote areas where they work,” noted Chris Maynard , ASRC’s general manager of fleet operations. Yet not all areas of the frozen tundra are easily – or quickly – crossed via motor vehicle, especially many of the mountainous parts, and often special permits are required to traverse them. That’s why ASRC sometimes needs to fly its pickup trucks to certain oilfield destinations and, also, when things get a little tight.
