The Impala was struck from behind by a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, which was then rear-ended by a 2013 Mercedes C250. Stanfill and his passenger, 18-year-old Moses Lake man Omar Silva, were not hurt. The driver of the Malibu, Kelly Van Lith, a 23-year-old Saint John resident, was injured and taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center. The driver of the Mercedes, Agustin S. Sanchez, a 38-year-old Quincy man, and two of his passengers, 38-year-old Quincy resident Catalina Sanchez Salazar, and a 17-year-old Quincy male, were injured and taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center.
