Avila, Threatt not selected in Thursday's NBA draft - Monitor
McAllen native J. J. Avila, McAllen High’s all-time leading scorer who was a first-team All-Mountain West selection as a senior for Colorado State last season, and guard Jarvis Threatt, who spent last season boosting his profile with the NBA... Avila, a 6-foot-7, 240-pound forward, worked out for five NBA teams prior to the draft, while the 6-foot-1, 172-pound Threatt worked out for seven. Threatt averaged 12. 9 points, 5. 5 assists and 3. 9 rebounds in 36 games for the Vipers, who still maintain Threatt’s D-League rights. Should they not get picked up by an NBA team this offseason, playing overseas or in the D-League are choices Avila and Threatt will entertain. Source: www.themonitor.com
