Hank's Tire & Muffler hosts 8th annual car show - The Killeen Daily Herald
Hank’s Tire & Muffler has been in Copperas Cove since 1985. “My father then bought it in June 1999,” owner Brad Harwell said. What began as a grand reopening and tire sale when Harwell bought the business turned into an annual event, with cars, music and food. Using the event to meet and greet customers, Harwell and staff members in bright orange shirts could be seen encouraging people to have fun. There’s no way that I could do this kind of job without them,” Harwell said. About 60 people help out every year to host the event, which includes vendors, such as Ford Racing and Continental Tire to Advance Auto Parts. Customers and friends supplied the flashy hot rods that lined the street during the three-day event with their hoods popped open to show what was underneath. Free food included hot dogs, jalapeno cheese wraps, sausages and soft drinks. Harwell’s father-in-law brought out his pit to cook the food. “We go through about 400 pounds of sausage each year we do this,” Harwell said.
