Greeley man dies in Sunday night crash in Colorado Springs - Greeley Tribune
Munoz was wearing a seatbelt when the 2002 Lexus sedan he was riding in was involved in a crash on U. S. 24 and 31st Street on the west side of Colorado Springs. The Lexus collided with an oncoming 2003 Dodge Dakota, which was traveling east on U. S. 24. The Colorado State Patrol suspects the 16-year-old caused the crash, which remains under investigation, when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic. After the impact, the Lexus rotated counter-clockwise and collided with the rear of a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban, which was stopped in the northbound lane of 31st Street. The 16-year-old received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs. Darren Wieck, 30, of Colorado Springs was driving the Dodge at the time of the crash. He and his passenger, Johnathan Moody, 24, also of Colorado Springs, were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Colorado Springs residents John Dort, 53, the driver of the Chevrolet, and Dorla McAllister, 56, the passenger, were not injured in the crash. Source: www.greeleytribune.com
