Magna opened the $75 million, 290,000-square-foot exterior parts plant, called DexSys, at 5589 W. Mt. Hope Hwy. On Monday Delta Township’s Board of Trustees approved a 12-year tax abatement, a 50 percent reduction in taxes on improvements and additions to the facility. The planned expansion will include the addition of a generator, compressor and new dock space, along with 3,500-square-foot in office space and added parking. Tracy Fuerst, director of communications for Magna, said Wednesday that details about the time line for new jobs and the pay range aren’t available yet. The plant manufactures front and rear fascias for the vehicles made at General Motors’ two local assembly plants — Lansing Delta Township, which builds the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia crossovers.
