This Alto PowerPack is a high performance replacement cutch kit for your GM 6L80 RWD transmission that upgrades the 3/5/rev clutches from stock 8 plate (4 double-sided friction plates) to 14 single-sided plates (7 internal, 7 external) for over 40% increased surface area!
These clutches are lined with Alto's state-of the art Red Eagle high performance racing friction material mated to technology advanced steel backing plates for increased clutch capacity and maximum heat dissipation! This kit also has the low-drag cushion buttons for reduced drag and friction when the clutch is disengaged.
This Alto Clutch PowerPack contains:
Seven (7) 195743B183 Red Eagle® External Spline Anti – Drag Frictions Plates (1.83mm / .072”).
Seven (7) 195742A183 Red Eagle® Internal Spline Frictions Plates (1.83mm / .072”).
Forty-two (42) A50003 Anti – Drag Angled Rubber Inserts.
Always pre-soak the frictions in the type of ATF recommended by the OE for at least 30 minutes.
Check clutch pack clearance between the pressure plate and the top friction plate in 3 different locations, clearance should be .040” to .070” (1.06 – 1.78 mm).
