Warrants: Wrong-way driver leaves path of destruction - Asheville Citizen-Times
ASHEVILLE – A Lenoir man is charged with multiple counts of hit and run and several counts of assault with a deadly weapon — including one against a police officer — after a spate of reckless driving left several cars totaled. 16, 41-year-old Scottie Armstrong hit a 2007 Chevy Tahoe with his Honda Accord at an I-26 off-ramp at Woodland Hills Road, then fled the scene. At the time, Armstrong was attempting to access I-26, driving the wrong way on the ramp. Armstrong then continued on I-26, traveling about 6 miles eastbound in the westbound lane, where he swerved to attempt to strike a westbound-traveling officer who was attempting to apprehend him.
