Frankford man arrested on DUI charges following fence crash - WMDT

Delaware State Police say around 2:40 AM on Wednesday, 65-year-old Huseyin Oflu, was driving a 1997 Nissan Altima southbound on South DuPont Highway - US13, just north of Irish Hill Road. Troopers say the Nissan crossed over the center median, and crossed the northbound lanes, where it collided with a fence, and two horse trailers located on the property of Delwood Trailers Inc. According to the report, the car then continued, hitting another fence on the property, and a Verizon utility box, before coming to a stop in the Canterbury Shore Stop after hitting a road sign. Police say a witness watched the crash, and stopped when he noticed Oflu throwing beer cans from the car, into the parking lot. Source: www.wmdt.com

The tow truck, driven by a 53-year-old man from New Orleans, was stopped in traffic in the center lane. The driver was waiting for the light to change at Veterans and Lake Avenue, he said. Witnesses told traffic investigators the Nissan was seen abruptly changing lanes before it struck the tow truck. One witness told an investigator that the Nissan's driver threw a small black object into the bushes on the side of Veterans Boulevard moments before the wreck, Fortunato said. Mildred 'Millie' Baynor, Baltimore social worker - Baltimore Sun

Mildred "Millie" Baynor, a 21-year employee at the Enoch Pratt central library and longtime Baltimore social worker, died Tuesday at her Gwynn Oak home after a brief illness. She was 89. The daughter of William McKinley Kirkland and Mildred Vivian Brooks Kirkland, Mildred Louise Kirkland was born on April 4, 1926, and spent much of her life in Baltimore's Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood. She was the only daughter in a family of five children, growing up near Pennsylvania Avenue with the shops, jazz clubs and churches of its heyday. Central to her life was her faith, her granddaughter Torena Brown said. Brown said. Baynor contributed to several ministries at her church, St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. Brown said. One of her first jobs after graduating from high school in the early 1940s was as a munitions factory worker at Edgewood Arsenal during World War II. She also worked with her mother at a laundry in southeast Baltimore, where they cleaned, folded... The close-knit pair was known as "Big Millie" and "Little Millie. Baynor went on to have a career as a social worker in Baltimore, where she worked as a case manager helping families in need receive food stamps and access other services.
