Cheyenne man arrested for role in March fatal crash - Wyoming Tribune

McCoy was arrested on a circuit court warrant issued July 20. Stata was killed on the afternoon of March 17, when she was riding as a passenger in a 1998 Ford Explorer being driven by Melissa Stephenson, then 26, also of Cheyenne. Stephenson was traveling eastbound on Randall Avenue, while McCoy was traveling northbound on O'Neil Avenue in a 2000 Ford F-250 pickup truck. At about 5:09 p. m. , McCoy failed to stop for a stop sign at Randall Avenue, though he did hit his brakes, leaving 65 feet of skid marks going past the stop sign and into the intersection. McCoy's truck collided with the rear passenger side of Stephenson's vehicle, causing the Explorer to rotate clockwise. Looking to her right, she said she saw a big truck bearing down on her, and the truck did not stop for the stop sign. On April 8, McCoy told police he did stop at the stop sign, looked both ways and then proceeded slowly into the intersection when Stephenson's Explorer "came out of nowhere. But a forensic reconstruction of the crash scene showed that McCoy's vehicle had been traveling between 38 and 43 miles per hour before he suddenly hit his brakes, leaving the 65. Associated Press GEVGELIJA, Macedonia (AP) - Thousands of rain-soaked migrants on Saturday rushed past Macedonian riot police who were attempting to block them from entering Macedonia from Greece. Police fired stun grenades and dozens of people were injured in the border clashes. By the end of the day, every one got across, including several hundred migrants, mostly elderly and children, who had remained on the Greek side of the border. The tumult started when police allowed a small group of migrants with young children to cross the frontier, and crowds in the back squeezed the migrants toward the shielded police wall. Then thousands of others, including women with babies and men carrying small children, grabbed their chance to climb over razor wire or run across a field not protected by the fence to enter Macedonia. Police stun grenades did not to stop the rush, but many fleeing migrants were chased down by policemen and severely kicked or beaten with batons. It was the second day of clashes between the migrants and baton-wielding police who are attempting to block them from heading toward the European Union.
