State police at Towanda said Brandon Lawrence Alexander, 26, of Granville Summit, used the bank account of Rebecca Mae Louise Bump, 23, of Rome, to make purchases from Dec. Dakota Michael Williams, 18, of Canton, told state police at Towanda that his violin and violin carrying case were stolen sometime between July 19 and July 20 from his residence in Canton Township. According to police, the violin is described as cherry-colored, with some oak, and the violin bow is cherry red in color. Police said the carrying case is made of black fabric, and has a teal blue interior, a heart on the outside of the case, and Williams' name written on top of the case in green paint. Police said the total value of the violin and carrying case is estimated at $350. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186. Two injured in crash. According to state police, Dominick M. Manuel, 18, of Rome was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram north on Towner Hill Road around 11:45 p. m. on Aug. Police said Manuel lost control of his vehicle on a curve, causing it to travel south into a ditch located on the west side of the road. US Auto Regulators Slap 105 Million Fine on Fiat Chrysler Over Several Recalls - BizTek Mojo

In light of the recent Fiat Chrysler recalls, federal regulators have now slapped the automaker with a record breaking $105 million fine. Chrysler was fined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration because of the recall lapses that covered millions of their vehicles. The most recent one involved their over a million of their Jeep Cherokee vehicles after two cyber security researchers managed to hack the in-car infotainment system. Not only did the hackers infiltrate the system, they also managed to switch radio stations and turn the volume up. Wipers were also turned on without the driver doing anything. In a much worse scenario, the hackers could potentially kill the brakes, which could put the driver of the vehicle in serious danger especially on slippery roads and high-speed drives. There was also a part of the deal where Chrysler agreed to buy back some of its recalled vehicles, including many of its defective car parts that are supposed to be replaced in order to keep the driver and passengers safe. The Wall Street Journal reported that Fiat Chrysler will be paying $70 million up front for the fine and will also use $20 million for corporate social responsibility and industry outreach efforts such as holding seminars for its manufacturers on...
