Detroit police: Man dies trying to stop car repo - The Detroit News

A Detroit man died Thursday after apparently suffering a heart attack while trying to stop a car repossession, police said. A tow truck driver had arrived to take the man’s Ford Focus in the 9000 block of Archdale around 4:40 p. m. , but the owner “got in the car and attempted to hit the tow truck driver with the car,” said Sgt. The Ford driver then hit the side of a house and had a heart attack, Lewis said. The death is the latest incident involving repossessions in Metro Detroit. In April, a 63-year-old man was arraigned in 41B District Court, accused of threatening a man who had an order to repossess a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban from a home on Washington Street in Mount Clemens.
